Friday night been and gone, and i decided to abandon watching a cheesy American comedy film with the flat to catch up with some music vid's i'd been meaning to watch all week (before their iPlayer sell by date goes!)
First of all (thanks to Annie Macs FRIDAY NIGHT MASH UP BOOM!) i had that Friday feeling. The feeling knowing you have two days ahead of you with no set in stone commitments. OR you could go out later and sleep all day tomorrow.:)So i fancied some bass. Terry Hooligan (who i discovered as he played in Moles last week- didn't go but spent some time listening, BASS=WIN is the label, Rico Tubbs oh yea) provided well. Then Kissy sellout's latest 2 hour slot on Radio1. I have to be in the right mood to get pleasure out of the highly energized PUMPIN' dance music shows. Kissy plays a good mix of indie, bassline and electro stuff. I discovered some good remixes from 'tuning in' haha. I also like hearing about his party lifestyle, trawling round the country Djing in mega clubs with other well known Dj's. Lucky for some.
Then i was pleasantly reminded Foals played live in 6Music last week. Ignoring their hype and mainstream success, i always liked them. Their new song 'Spanish Sahara' transports me into a dreamlike, melancholy, emotive state of mind. Could easily be a soundtrack piece. The video is good too,take a look!( i think after only watching it once!) Still don't get the concept of the dead carcasses though. Yannis seems to have a genuine natural passion and desire to make music. This quote has always stood out for me:

Talking about their second album (supposedly 'difficult' for music ans) Lauren Lavern asks what direction they wanted to take and how/why they've changed their math beepy sound to something different. He simply answered they just created what they wanted to express at the time. I found this highly liberating.
So up i load the vids, however, the annoying slow connectivity meant it kept stopping just i as i started getting into it. I've got no time for that obstruction, so i decided to feed some other indulgence by visiting Badger of the Year blog. Many great things on this blog, all posted by some fellow Graphic Communicators on my course.You guys know you stuff :)Click here to have a look for yourself! I 'favorited' it a while back and hasn't disappointed since. I noticed on the right their 'Chums' list. Obviously the people they like the work of and are happy to promote.
Trawling through some link and pages you begin to see things you like, that inspire you to create, posts you connect to, a sharing of interest one might say.
DING! Decision made. I want to start a blog (even Jarvis Cocker is in the bandwagon now)about snippets of me 'ol time on earth. I've hesitated before as i feel i/we spend waaaaay too much time on the computer these days anyway (now with Spotify Social how the hell am i supposed to have life!?) But seeing others work and having an innate desire to share ideas and thoughts (NB years of compelling diaries and journals), a blogs is the perfect tool to do this. Oh the wonders of the Internet!
